Description Reviews: 2018: ROBERT PARKER 91pts “Ferran’s 2018 Blanc sings of fresh pineapple, pink grapefruit and sea spray, with touches of wild sage, white pepper and struck flint. The medium-bodied palate delivers fantastic freshness and wonderfully pure citrus flavors with a long chalky finish.” JAMES SUCKLING 90pts “Aromas of green apples, grapefruit zest, smoked almonds and flint. It’s medium-bodied with bright acidity and a silky texture. Lemon-curd notes on the subtle finish. Little light at the end. Drink or hold.” 2017: ROBERT PARKER 91pts| JAMES SUCKLING 91pts 2016: JAMES SUCKLING 92pts| ROBERT PARKER 90pts 2015: JAMES SUCKLING 92pts| ROBERT PARKER 91pts Wine Producer: Chateau Ferran Country: France Region: Bordeaux Production Area: Pessac Leognan A. O. C. (Appellation d’ Origine Controlee) Grape Type: Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon Colour: White The Wine: Located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Ferran has been planted with vines since Montesquieu owned it in the 18th century. It reveals itself on tasting as an elegant and complex wine with delicate notes. This white jumps out of the glass with a very intense nose with tropical notes (pineapple, mango) and menthol. The palate is fat and dense, very aromatic with a beautiful satiny texture and a long, nervous finish. A white Pessac of character and energy! Features: A very pretty and layered nose that presents ripe orchard fruit, grapefruit zest and garden herbs with subtle toast, butter and coconut oil notes. Dry and medium bodied, it’s crisp with a vibrant acidity. A green apple note emerges on the palate; well-handled oak adds complexity. Zippy, refreshing, medium-long finish. Enjoy with baked sole or lemon chicken. Pairings: Aperitif, Starters, Fish, Shellfish, Worldwide Dishes. Serving Temperature: 10°C–12°C Actual Alcoholic Strength by Volume: 12,5% vol. (varies depending on vintage). Allergens: Contains sulphites.
